Canada Grinds Their Way to 3-0

August 10, 2016 | News, Photos

Canada played against a plucky Senegal team this evening as Group B preliminary games continued at the Youth Arena in Deodoro.

While the team never fell behind to the African champions, it was still a closely contested game in which Canada ultimately grinded out a 68-58 win and remain undefeated in group play.

Kia Nurse again led the team in scoring with 14 points with Tamara Tatham right behind her with 13 points.

Miranda had a relatively quiet game–playing a little over 18 minutes, scoring 2 points with 3 rebounds.

Canada will now face the United States on Friday as both teams are currently undefeated at 3-0. The game tips off at 3:30pm local, 2:30pm eastern time.
